This is Part 3 of Anna and Chetan’s incredible backyard wedding adventure. Thursday and Friday (Part 1) kicked things off with an incredible welcome party and a massive guest centered experience that led into a choose your own adventure at The Reverie. It was the opening act of an incredible adventure. Saturday (Part 2) was the mashup of communities. While the camping and Burning Man crew enjoyed everything The Reverie had to offer (saunas, pools, massages, fountains, and art installations), the other half was preparing for a colorful and amazing traditional Indian celebration. The two communities intertwined and prepared for the day. The baraat-second line parade, incredible traditions and pyrotechnics that followed, were as colorful and fun as the choose your own adventure the night before. Part 3: The White Wedding. When I rolled onto The Reverie grounds on Sunday for our last day together, I surveyed the grounds and drank it in. This whole crew of people from vendors to guests to family had spent almost four days together, in 90 degree heat, celebrating Anna & Chetan in so many different ways. It was a little bittersweet! While I walked up to the house I began to realize that everyone, everyone, was getting dressed in white dresses. Many, most, were wedding dresses. I found Anna and we ended up having an impromptu first look with Chetan. What came next felt like a ceremony and celebration custom fit for Anna and Chetan. Part 3 was for them. We had an amazingly emotional, confessional and special wedding ceremony. Everyone understood the connection Anna and Chetan had with each other, and the connections they were growing with their community and their families. It was really emotional for everyone. After lunch, speeches and dancing, Chetan urged everyone up and into the pool (to jump in!) before the colorful Holi celebration. The cloud of color that engulfed the group of soaking wet, laughing and loving friends and family was the perfect end to their perfectly executed weekend. At the end of the event, Chetan expressed how the town in the film Big Fish influenced their planning. I could totally see and feel it. Nathan and I were truly honored to take part and capture this unique experience and celebration. Congratulations to Anna and Chetan!
