Mystic Seminars And The Pacific Northwest

Every couple of years we try to do something inspiring and educational for our wedding photography.  In 2012 I attended a wedding photography workshop called Genesis in Las Vegas.  I flew into San Diego, worked my way up through LA to Malibu and then through the Mojave Desert towards Vegas.  Check out the blog post here.  The instruction and the incredible colleagues I met helped shape our business and our imagery.  In 2014 around 50 Genesis workshop alumni had a reunion in Hualtulco, Mexico. (pics)  It was incredible.  Colleagues had become great friends.  It was time to do it again.  Lauren and I spent three days exploring New York City before she dropped me at the airport and I set off across the country to Mystic Seminars in Portland, OR.  Mystic is a speaker event full of some of the top wedding photographers in the world.   I also got to hang out with a handful of my Genesis colleagues.  Mystic was awesome.  And just like in Vegas I did some exploring.  After four days in Portland I hit the road on a two day road-trip around the Pacific Northwest.  I drove for 17 hours in two days.  From Portland to Cannon Beach and Astoria  (Goonies never say die!) to the most Northwestern tip of the country, Ruby Beach and then down to Seattle.  The trip finished with a cloudy trip past Mount Rainier and up into Mount St. Helens.  Enjoy!
